Major Tom is an internet agency from Ghent, Belgium. Since 1999 we've been building websites, web shops and web applications that hold up — with a solid foundation, a long attention span and a looser way of talking than you're used to.

We've been around since 1999 — back when the web was still in short trousers. We've seen it all: the internet before the smartphone, the days when a website was a genuine experience, with sound and animation. We were even Flash Kings. Remember what Flash was? Then we're among professionals. If not: all the better.
Since then the web has been reinvented a dozen times over, and we evolved right along with it. From widescreen monitors to the phone in your pocket, from loose pixels to entire ecosystems: we saw every wave coming and rode it. What stayed the same? The itch to build things that actually work.
Small team, long haul
We were sixteen people once. Today we're deliberately small and sharp — and it suits us perfectly. The people who work here have all been here for fifteen years or more. All of them. No revolving door, no names you'd forget anyway: a tight-knit team that grows and evolves together.
Small doesn't mean less around here — it means closer. No ticket number, no anonymous call centre, but a familiar face who knows your project inside out and simply picks up when you call.

Our strongest reference isn't in a portfolio — it's in the calendar: clients who, after all these years, still call. Some projects we've now looked after for 25 years. You don't build that kind of trust with smooth talk, but with being reachable, giving honest advice and offering real customer service — long after a site or application has gone live.

We're level-headed people from Ghent: no-nonsense, and no waffle. If an idea is daft, we'll say so — kindly, but clearly. We'd rather give you an honest 'let's do that differently' than an expensive detour nobody benefits from.
Behind a sleek site there's usually a serious stack of tech. We take care of that — from well-considered architecture to custom applications that make heavy lifting feel light. You're left with a clear, fast and reliable result, and a team that keeps picking up when you call.
Built the way an architect would want
We're mad about architecture — Le Corbusier above all. His Modulor translated human proportions into buildings; we do exactly the same with screens. Our design system is built around the golden ratio (φ = 1.618), so everything we make has rhythm and calm.
And like good architecture: built to stay standing. Speed, accessibility, clean code and GDPR aren't afterthoughts for us but the foundation. So what we build today will still be here in five years — fresh, secure and easy to maintain.
Away from the screen
We're not just internet nerds. We're also foodies who'll find a good spot faster than a 404, sporty types, culture lovers and people who simply enjoy making beautiful things. That enthusiasm works its way into everything we build — whether you notice it or not.
